Susanne Kogler is professor of musicology and head of the Institute of Musicology at the University of Graz. She studied music education, classics and musicology. PHD in musicology in 2001 (Am Ende, wortlos, die Musik. Sprache und Sprachlichkeit im zeitgenössischen Musikschaffen, Wien: Universal Edition 2003). In 2012 postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) (Adorno versus Lyotard: moderne und postmoderne Ästhetik, Freiburg: Alber 2014). Visiting professor at the New York City University, the Université Paris 8 and the University of Ljubljana. Publications on music history and aesthetics of the 19th – 21st centuries.
