in August 1997 the musical hermit and player piano composer died at the age of 84 in Mexico. Just several years ago nearly unknown, he is considered today as one of the most important composers and pioneer of contemporary music. For Gyòrgy Ligeti he even is the most important composer of the second half of the 20th century. His studies for player piano belong to the most outstanding piano compositions of the 20th century.
