Susanna Niedermayr was born in Vienna, Austria in 1972, and studied painting and political science. From 1995 to 2000 she was a member of WochenKlausur, a Vienna-based international group of artists, who make sociopolitical interventions at the invitation of art institutions and cultural organisations since 1993. She has been working as a journalist, presenter and Web designer at the ORF (Ö1, FM4) since 1996 (amongst also as a presenter for the ORF Kunstradio), and as an editor of the Ö1 programme Zeit-Ton since 2000. She has published in various magazines, and has worked as an organiser, consultant and curator (2002 amongst others: Pleasure From Gdansk Till Dawn – Contemporary Experimental Music from Eastern Europe, Co-curator (together with Christian Scheib) of a compilation for Leonardo Music Journal/MIT; 2003 amongst others: Turning Sounds – Warsaw, New Europe:Meridiane, Wien Modern). Co-author (together with Christian Scheib) of In The East . New Music Territories in Europe., PFAU, 2002 (dt./eng.) and European Meridians. New Music Territories., PFAU, 2003 (dt./eng.). In 2002 she set up line_in:line_out. She is living and working in Vienna.
